they have to pull their big girl panties up and get the job done. >> reporter: a fight down to the wire with uncle sam's credit on the line. the nation hits its debt ceiling on august second. the practical deadline is a couple weeks from now. that's because it will take time to analyze any deal and sell it to skeptical lawmakers. brian mooar, news 4. >>> as we reported earlier tonight, casey anthony has been found not guilty of murdering her 2-year-old daughter caylee. where is casey anthony? did she go back to jail? >> yeah, she is in custody right now, in jail, in a holding cell, and she will stay in that cell until thursday morning. she will be sentenced thursday morning on the four guilty counts of lying to law enforcement officials during their investigation. the maximum sentence on those counts is one year each, she already has three years served going through this trial. the theory among legal analysts is that when they go to court on thursday morning. the judge will say, you have served your time, you are free to go. which means she could be out and free by thursday afternoon. >

the forecast. wall street rallied. a big bucket of cold water was poured on wall street and the economy with the lackluster jobs. >> the economy added an average of 215,000 jobs per month in the previous three months so the anticipation was there. and it showed a stand still in june. what is it about june, do we know what happen? >> it's not just june. they went back and revised downward the prior month. they thought they had 57,000 jobs in may. it turned out it was 25,000. they got rid of it -- they revised away 45,000 additional jobs. we think there have been temporary blips in the economy, the greek situation, storms all through the south you were reporting on. you've had high gas prices and a whole lot of other things have been happening and that caused the economy to come to a stand still and hiring come to a stand still in may and june. we hope that's the case. >> you want to bring up an important thing that a lot of people don't hear about. you call it the real unemployment rate, the ratio of unemployed, discouraged workers and people working part time because they can't find ful

's carl. >> amy, thanks. this is a big weekend in the trial of casey anthony. both sides have rested. the jurors should have the case tomorrow. nbc's kerry sanders is live in orlando to tell us what happened in the courtroom on friday, and kerry, it seemed like yet another bombshell. >> a big bombshell. remember here, casey anthony is accused of the first degree, premeditated murder of her daughter, 2-year-old caylee. and prosecutors say that she used duct tape and chloroform. and a big piece of evidence that they presented during this trial was searches on the home computer in the anthony home for chloroform. those searches were made three months before little caylee died. well, during this trial, cindy anthony, casey's mother, got on the stand and she said, you know what? i made those searches. i wasn't at work that day, i remember the day, i was looking for some information about the plants in the backyard, and whether they might be making my dogs sick, and that was me. well, the prosecution, using this time leading up to their rebuttal case, pulled the records from cindy anthony'

tonight? >> that's the big question, isn't it? meteorologist doug kammerer is here, he's got the answer. so what about that, doug? >> uh -- that's the hemming and hauing. because we have some storms trying to make their way towards the region of the right now outside, 90 degrees, a very warm 4th of july, a heat index of 93 degrees. that's what you expect this time of year, not much in the way of wind, out of the east at 3 miles per hour. temperatures around the rest of the region, 83 in quantico, 87 in sterling. frederick coming in at 91 degrees. now, on the radar, you notice that area down to the south in the pink, that's a severe thunderstorm watch, that's effect until 10:00, includes spotsylvania county, stafford county, fredricksburg, maryland, charles and calvert county. that severe thunderstorm watch in effect until 10:00. i do think most of the storms -- most of the storms will stay south of 66 and south of 50. so that's very good news for those of you in portions of northern virginia and the rest of maryland and also towards west virginia could see a couple showers. but right no

to try to fight the current to get to finally what i call the big rock. it was a big island in the middle of this area about maybe five miles from where i started. >> and when you were discovered, were you still alone? how much time did you spend alone once you were finally out of the water? was there any chaos around you? try to describe the environment you were in. >> well, the environment to get to the big rock, first i was thrown into some huge boulders and i felt my body crushing so i had to jump out of there in order to keep from being knocked out or killed in the rocks. so i jumped to the other side, which was kind of a more smaller rocky beach area. i asked the lord to kind of give me a hand to get to the shore. and suddenly a big wave came over and i rolled with the wave in order to get to the shore. and i rolled again with the second wave hit and i rolled with the third and then i crawled to the beach. and i took my life vest off and put it on a stick to notify people i was there. i found a corner and i slept. my body was totally exhausted. >> after 16 hours, you can understand

will she go? that's the big question at this point. we do know from defense sources that they had a plan in place long before the verdict that if it was not guilty, they would move her to an undisclosed location. and for the first time in three years, try to keep casey anthony out of the spotlight. that plan is still in place. they do plan to move her somewhere out of the glare of the cameras, away from everything for now. and as her attorney, jose baez said, give her some time to grieve. that was his words immediately following the verdict, for her to grieve and understand what it's like to be out of jail after being behind bars for three years. so the idea, at least from the defense team, at this point is they will move her away and make sure she stays out of the tvs glare, out of the limelight for a while. >> jay, what are they going to do about security? the public is not happy with this verdict. and believes that she did this and has gotten away with murder. so i would imagine that if i were her attorneys, i would want to provide some security for her so there isn't any vigilante ju

are rising rather quickly right now with that southwesterly wind and big dome of high pressure that's across our area and certainly much of the nation. that's the reason for the high heat coming our way. we have 92 degrees, the forecast high here. 93 in culpeper and fredericksburg. there could be a little bit of an isolated storm popping up just to our south and west later today from loudoun county down towards fauquier county and you a round culpeper as well as rappahannock county. look at the nation. there's 17 states under either a heat advisory or excessive heat warning. so much of the country from north dakota down towards northern texas, all the way off to the east towards ohio. that's where the high heat is, big dome. most intense heat right here. that's what will start pushing this way. by the time we get to the middle of the week we will be on the other side of 95 degrees. by the time we get to the end of the work week and through the weekend we have not had a heat wave that's gone this long. the weekend, around 100 degrees. for our overnight we will step back down into the 80s. 8 o
